How many calls does a tyre shop actually miss
We asked tyre shop owners for one thing: the number of missed calls in a typical week. Nobody knew the exact figure — everyone estimated less than reality.
What measurements show
- Normal days: 25–35% of calls go unanswered — while the fitter is on a wheel, on a break, on another call.
- Season rush: 55–65% — the phone never gets a break between two sides of a mounting job.
- Repeat callers: of every unanswered call, about a third never tries again.
What it costs
An average fitting job is worth 80–220 EUR per car. One missed call a day, a third lost for good — that is one to two salaries a month.
The problem is not that the shop does not answer — the problem is it does not know how often it does not.
