Why a car pulls to one side after fitting
"The car pulls since you changed the tyres" is a call every workshop knows. The cause is usually elsewhere — but the customer connects it to you.
The usual causes
- Pressure — one tyre a few tenths of a bar down pulls the whole car.
- Geometry — wheels misaligned before fitting now show on fresh tread.
- Rotation direction — a directional tyre mounted backwards.
- Conicity — rare manufacturing quirk; swapping the tyre side-to-side confirms it.
What to tell the customer
Check pressure first — free and instant. If it persists, a quick test drive and a geometry check. Most cases close in fifteen minutes; the ones that do not become a documented claim.
