Tire hotel: should you offer storage to customers

A tire hotel is a service customers understand the moment you offer it: their tires sit on your shelf, dry, until next season. For the shop it is not just revenue — it locks the customer in for two seasons.

What the customer gets

• Space. Tires in a garage take room and degrade under light and heat.
• Inspection. Tires get checked at storage — the customer learns their condition before the season, not during it.
• Convenience. No hauling, no dirty car.

What to charge

Market range: 30–60 EUR per season per set. Some shops bundle it free with an annual package — that binds the customer tighter than a price does.

How to sell it

No selling — just the offer while the wheel is on the lift: "taking them home or leaving them with us until the season?" Most pick the second option once they hear it costs about one tank of fuel.

What to watch

Records, labelling, dry space. An unlabelled set or a damp basement creates a dispute that costs more than a year of storage fees.
